Welcome to our sanctuary.
Cat Tail Acres is a Michigan no-kill feral cat rescue. We believe all of God's living and breathing creatures deserve a right to a good life. We have roughly 200 feral cats currently residing at our sanctuary. The majority of our cats were either set to be euthanized because they were feral, were living on the streets fending on their own, or in dangerous situations where they had to be removed for their safety.
All the cats who reside at Cat Tail Acres will do so for the remainder of their lives. They know the sanctuary as their permanent home and the feral kitties at the sanctuary have grown to love their caregivers and are quite comfortable in their surroundings. The majority of our feral residents have become friendly over time due to the trust, love and respect that we've given to each of them. The cats are safe and will never be euthanized unless it is medically necessary to do so.
Most of our feline residents are considered "unadoptable" by today's shelter and rescue standards. We work with the rescue group, Cat Tail Kitties, so that any kittens or already socialized cats that come into our possession are immediately transferred to them to be adopted. Since most of the ferals we acquire become socialized while they are with us, we also do occasionally adopt out some of them to qualified adopters. The vast majority of the cats had run out of options and would of been euthanized by other shelters and rescue groups that cannot and will not work with a feral cat. We've made a lifetime commitment to love and care for each and every cat at Cat Tail Acres!
