Kroger Community Rewards
If you live in Michigan, we are pleased to tell you about a great and easy way to increase funding for Cat Tail Acres Sanctuary (CTAS): all you have to do is shop and/or buy your gas at your nearest KROGER store and through their Community Rewards Program we will earn money on your purchases. You will have to either get a Kroger Community Rewards card for the first time and then tie it to our charity; tie your existing Rewards card to our charity; or switch from what other charity you had tied your card to...if of course you are willing to switch to us. And this program does not in any way diminish your own rewards points. Kroger no longer requires annual renewal of
their shopper rewards cards connections to charities as they used to, so once you are registered with CTAS it continues.
CTAS earned just over $1,168 in 2016 (unfortunately DOWN from the $1,400 we earned in 2015). These earnings came from only a little over 50 households (a very small percentage of our supporters), so IMAGINE what we could earn if EACH OF YOU took a moment to do this now and once a year thereafter?! Some folks cannot afford to make donations, but ALL of you need groceries, so this is also a great way for you to support the Sanctuary without making separate donations. PLEASE help us care for our over 100 cats.
You will truly benefit from being a Rewards cardholder since Kroger has good sale prices all the time, has their own excellent line of organic products, top-quality produce, non-factory-farmed meats, and more, as well as additional daily discounts for Rewards cardholders. But even better, many Kroger stores now have gas stations which ALWAYS provide Rewards cardholders with 3 cents a gallon discounts, plus even larger discounts based on how many reward points you have accumulated. I have found Kroger gas to be the least expensive of all others, even sometimes Costco. And....if you buy gift cards at Kroger (they carry cards for every store you can imagine, as well as web shopping sites), you get double, and often 3x or 4x the points! This past Christmas I bought all my gift cards there, and ended up getting 50-60 cents a gallon off on gas for a while. One day I spoke with a man who was getting gas next to me and he told me he got a gift card for Best Buy at Kroger in order to buy a new large-screen TV and got tons of points to discount his gas prices multiple times over multiple weeks. In other words, you can save money with their sales, then save more money as a Rewards card customer, then save money again on gas at their station, AND help the Sanctuary earn money from Kroger. They also have special promotions where you get double points toward gas if you shop on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday!

So here's what you have to do.
If you already have a Kroger Plus Shopper's Card that usually means you already registered and have a user name and password. Sometimes people get the card at the store but never register it online & just use their phone # to ID themselves at the cash register checkout. So you have to determine which way you got it. If you never registered online, see the instructions below for first-time registering below. Unfortunately, Kroger prefers people to tie their personal Rewards card to our Charity by going online to their website....you cannot do it at a Kroger store even though you can get cards there. You should also try to do it online as some folks have problems registering with their smart phones. BUT...you can phone Kroger Customer Service at 877-576-7587 and they will register you.
YOUR KROGER CARD HAS ALREADY BEEN REGISTERED ONLINE
Because we are giving you so much detail, this may seem overwhelming but really it isn't. We just want to be sure that everyone has enough information to make it easy to do this. By taking a few moments to work through this, you will be helping yourself and REALLY helping us! If you have any problems or questions, do not hesitate to phone Kroger Customer Service at 877-576-7587. (At this number, they can also switch you from using your phone # at the register to having the computer automatically read your card and use the code # assigned to you which is on the back of your card. You may find that this is easier for you.)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
